Certigrade Cedar Sidewall Shingles

Rebutted/Rejointed Shingles are manufactured specifically for exterior and interior wall surface uses. They are a low maintenance siding product that adds beauty, texture, durability and insulating qualities to either new construction or remodeling and renovation of existing structures.

Appearance
Manufactured from Number 1 Grade Blue Label or Number 2 Grade Red label Certigrade® red cedar shingles, trimmed for parallel edges with butts sawn at right angles. Available in both sawn and sanded face textures.

Finishes
Natural, primed white, primed gray, or special order colors.

Lengths
16-inch, 18-inch and 24-inch.

Number 1 Grade, Blue Label
Description
Lengths 16-inch, 18-inch, 24-inch; width 4" minimum; thickness of 16-inch is 5/2" (5 butts together measure 2" thick), 18-inch is 5/2-¼" thick, 24-inch is 4/2" thick. Clear heartwood: 100% edge grain; no defects.

Recommended Use
For exterior and interior walls where a premium quality cedar shingle siding product is desired.

Number 2 Grade, Red Label
Description
Lengths 16-inch, 18-inch, 24-inch; width 4" minimum; thickness of 16-inch is 5/2" (5 butts together measures 11" and 16" clear or better on 16-inch, 18-inch and 24-inch shingles, respectively. Limited sapwood and flat grain are allowed. Limited knots and defects are allowed above the clear portion.

Recommended Use
For exterior and interior walls where a good quality cedar siding product is desired.

These red cedar shakes and shingles are manufactured in accordance with standards established by the Cedar Shake & Shingle Bureau.

Certi-Ridge® Shingle Hip and Ridge Units are pre-manufactured labor saving caps for hips and ridges. These products are made from the same red cedar resource as Certi-label™ shingles for a high quality perfect match.

Number 1 Grade Blue Label
Description
Manufactured from quality Number 1 Grade, Blue Label cedar shingles. Lengths 16-inch and 18-inch; widths 7" minimum (measured over the top at the butt end). 40 units per bundle for 16-inch; 36 units per bundle for 18-inch.

Number 2 Grade, Red Label
Description
Manufactured from Number 2 Grade, Red Label cedar shingles. Lengths 16-inch and 18-inch; widths 7" minimum (measured over the top of the butt end). 40 units per bundle for 16-inch; 36 units per bundle for 18-inch.

  • Class A, B & C fire ratings may be obtained by specifying Certi-Guard® pressure impregnated fire-retardant treatment, on number 1 grade product.
  • Certi-Last® pressure impregnated preservative treatment is available for added longevity.
  • Contact the treatment company for treatment warranty information, accessory product requirements (including recommended fastener types) and application details for treated cedar material.
  • Certi-label™ cedar shake and shingle hip and ridge units are manufactured by members of the Cedar Shake & Shingle Bureau are graded in accordance with UBC Standards No. 15-3 and 15-4 and/or CSA 0118.1.
